Tanganyika Wilderness Camps presents a unique collection of Permanent Tented Camps, Mobile Camping and Lodges in Tanzania.

Our properties are all situated in private areas of exceptional natural beauty, rich in wildlife and inhabited by spectacular local tribes and a farm at the foot of the Ngorongoro Crater. The main aim of Tanganyika Wilderness Camps is to provide our clients with a highly memorable safari experience in exclusive camps and lodges, which offer an atmosphere of privacy and intimate isolation.

We also offer a selection of African Safari Tours of Tanzania, allowing us to bring out the best of our country, lodges and camps. This offers the traveller a good cross-section of African safari game drives while enjoying the country at large.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area ~ Serengeti South

Lake Masek Tented Camp

Situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area overlooking Lake Masek. This unique location is witness to the Wildebeest Migration which takes place from December to April each year. There is resident Big 5 game all year round in the area.

The camp is eco-friendly as all the electric power is supplied by solar panels and water is collected during the rainy season. All the products used are biodegradable in order to ensure that the environment is kept pristine.

 

Ndutu Kati Kati Tented Camp

Seasonal mobile tented camp located in South Serengeti, from December to March, strategically located to cover the vast Serengeti plains.

The camp is open between December and March, to coincide with the Great Migration when millions of wildebeest, zebra and other ungulates congregate on the Serengeti plains.

 

Ngorongoro Highlands Area

Tloma Lodge

An exclusive petite 36-cottage lodge situated within the Ngorongoro Highlands Area.

The excellent location of Tloma Lodge on the raised shoulder of a valley, offers breathtaking views over a coffee-plantation and onto the Eastern wall of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.

Tloma Lodge has been modeled on its “bigger brother”, the very successful Ngorongoro Farm House, only 15 minutes away. The garden is particularly attractive full of flowering plants and bushes. Guests can enjoy a swim in the heated outdoor pool.

Farm House Valley Lodge

A stunning new addition to our extensive and varied portfolio of properties, Farm House Valley consists of 30 luxury rooms with views to Oldeani volcano in the Rift Valley. Sunlit breakfasts and candlelit dinners are eaten at the pretty restaurant or on the veranda and there is also a generous lounge for relaxing after a long day in the bush.

The lodge is located in the same 500 acre coffee farm as Ngorongoro Farm House, with independent facilities, totally independent.

A cozy main house is located in the center of the lodge where meals are served. The campfire is ready every evening for appetizers and snacks before dinner.

 

Ngorongoro Farm House

A small and exclusive lodge facing the Oldeani Volcano, only 5 kilometers from the Ngorongoro Lolduare gate, was built to offer our clients an original experience reminiscent of the atmosphere of the old days.

Ngorongoro Farm House was inaugurated on February 20th 2003, and is offering 52 room cottages, 49 standard rooms and 3 suite rooms, all with ample space inside, built on the style of an old colonial farm and rustically decorated with local materials and full of details of good taste, with the purpose of offering our clients an imaginary journey to the life of the days gone.

Ngorongoro Farm House is a perfect stopover within any safari in the Northern Circuit of Tanzania and a privileged place to visit the Crater or enjoy a bunch of activities: Like a walking safari to the adjacent forest leading to the Oldeani Volcano or an excursion to the nearby Lake Eyasi in the Rift Valley, still inhabited by a tribe of hunter-gatherers, the Hadzabe, a relic of ancient times who still follow a style of life similar to the humans who inhabited the Earth before the discovery of agriculture.

 

Tarangire ~ Manyara

Maramboi Tented Camp

A unique opportunity to experience and explore the Tarangire and Manyara ecosystem. Maramboi Tented Camp offers permanent camp facilities and endless vistas of rolling golden grasslands and palm lined desert between Tarangire and Manyara Lake. A visit to the area is essential for anyone interested in evolution and the origins of Mankind and an explanation of the Rift Valley and Africa’s big picture. It is a complete semi desert experience focusing on game drives.

An impressive landscape from the Rift Valley gives the visitor an amazing natural welcome to an area extraordinarily rich in wildlife. The camp offers stunning views of the Manyara National Park, Rift Valley, Ngorongoro highlands and on clear days even Oldonyo Lengai a sacred mountain to the Maasai.

 

Tarangire

Lake Burunge Tented Camp

Only a 20-minute drive away from Tarangire National Park. Lake Burunge Tented Camp consists of 20 Luxury Tents and 10 Lodge Rooms located in a shady bush land grove, with spectacular views onto Lake Burunge. Its main building offers a central lounge and bar/dining area built on a raised wooden deck. This elevated platform is the ideal venue for guests to relax and enjoy a sun downer whilst the sun disappears over the lake, or to simply sit and enjoy the warm fire place.

 

West Kilimanjaro

Kambi ya Tembo

Facing the snow-capped peaks of Kilimanjaro and the endless African savannah, Kambi ya Tembo offers fantastic views. The camp consists of 14 tents each with private en suite bathroom facilities. You can sit and watch the natural world pass by from the ample sun decks. The semi-arid land of Sinya and Elerai has an abundance of natural riches and is home to some of the largest elephants in East Africa.

Sinya, a private concession of about 600 square km, bordering Kenya at Amboseli National Park, offers spectacular landscapes with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Ol Doinyo Longido and Ol Doinyo Orok. A unique nature and cultural experience.

 

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp

A mobile tented camp located in Central Serengeti, strategically located to cover the vast Serengeti Plains. The camp offers comfortable accommodation and a unique opportunity to enjoy a real safari camp experience. The camp is only a two hour scenic drive from Olduvai Gorge Museum and Grumeti River.

A cosy mess tent islocated in the centre of the camp where meals are served. The campfire is ready every evening for appetizers and snacks before dinner.

Masek Under Canvas Tented Camp

Nestling between the prime wildlife areas of central and southern Serengeti. The area is witness of the Great Migration from December to March.

This luxurious tented camp enables guests to be within reach of the Great Migration and to explore remote, beautiful corners of the Serengeti with excellent resident game. This seasonal camp is intimate and exclusive, offering the most spacious safari tents, each with double bed, en suite bathroom, separate portable WC and a bucket shower.

Only ten tents at the campsite. Enjoy the exclusivity of absolute comfort combined with the authenticity of nights spent in the African bush. An extraordinary experience for all nature lovers.

Kubu Kubu Tented Camp

An exciting new addition to Tanganyika Wilderness Camps. It has a modern African appearance, creating a fresh, sleek, yet comfortable ambiance. Situated in the stunning central part of the Serengeti, the camp is strategically positioned in one of the main migration areas so that guests can enjoy this awesome natural wonder from the comfort of their tents.
There are 25 spacious en-suite tents which offer absolute comfort, exclusivity and a genuine African bush experience. In the central restaurant guests can enjoy exceptional food and wines, and the cozy lounge area has been creatively designed to give an atmosphere of intimacy and exclusivity. There is also a swimming pool in which to relax after a long game drive. Internet access is available in the camp with Wifi in the central area. Accommodation is on a full board basis, including drinks.

Kubu Kubu Tented Camp is perfectly positioned to be within easy reach of different parts of the park and an array of areas of interest and diverse habitats and wildlife, including the famous Maasai Kopjes, Olduvai Gorge Museum, the southern plains, the Seronera valley and the Grumeti River.
There are several airstrips in the National Park that receive schedule flights from Arusha as well as charter flights. The tar road from Arusha is good and takes approximately 4-5 hours.
